We both met Dakota Gill in the spring of 2022 at the WAMH Battle of the Bands and were separately but equally entranced by the novelty and power of his music compared to what we had already seen in Amherst. When the time came for us to choose a focus for our documentary, it felt like a no-brainer to pick Dialog Talk. Gradually, as we went to more shows and got to know Dakota, we realized we wanted to paint a picture of him not just as Dialog Talk, but as a complete musical creator and person. We’re so thankful that Dakota was willing to let us into this part of his life with open arms and were pleasantly surprised at just how many musical excursions he partakes in – some of which are shown in our film, but others of which you’ll just have to see for yourself.
